Certification

Certified Halal, documented per lot.

The gelatin is Halal certified by the Kenya Bureau of Halal Certification (KBHC) under Certificate No. 13862. KBHC is a member of the World Halal Council, the international federation of Halal certifying bodies - which supports recognition across export markets. A Halal certificate travels with every shipment, not on request.

Certifying body
Kenya Bureau of Halal Certification (KBHC) - a World Halal Council member.
Certificate number
13862 - reissued on the certifier's renewal cycle and supplied with each lot.
Slaughter at origin
Uganda's pastoral slaughter practice is naturally Halal-aligned, and the certified process is audited as part of the Halal scheme.
Documentation
Halal certificate, Certificate of Analysis, BSE-free declaration, country-of-origin certificate, and veterinary/health certificate - one package, every shipment.
Why it qualifies

Halal status rests on two things. This gelatin meets both.

01 · Permissible species

Bovine, never porcine.

Cattle are a Halal-permissible species; pork is not. Tianran produces exclusively bovine skin gelatin - there is no porcine raw material anywhere on the site, so the cross-contamination risk that exists at multi-species plants is removed at the source, not managed after the fact.

02 · Certified process

Slaughter and production, audited.

A permissible species alone is not enough - the slaughter and processing must follow Halal rites and be certified by a recognized authority. That is what the KBHC certification (No. 13862) attests to, audited under a World Halal Council member scheme.

Buyers screening a Halal claim should always confirm both the species and a live certificate from a recognized body - a point we expand on in sourcing red flags every gelatin buyer should know.

Any porcine contamination risk?
No. Single-species, single-country supply chain - Ugandan cattle only, no porcine material on site. Each lot is traceable to its consolidator and slaughterhouse window.
Is it also BSE-free?
